I have heard so much about manifesting the past few years. It has not only become trendy, but many people have begun to implement this in their life. Manifesting is the concept of making something happen by imagining it and consciously thinking that it will happen.
Is it beneficial to think positively? Yes. Do our thoughts affect our life? Yes. Do our thoughts have power? Yes. BUT, manifesting is not biblical.
When a person manifests, they are taking control and power in their mind to make something happen. This thing is believed to be whatever is wanted. Now, why is this wrong? Because when this is done a person is not submitting to God, they are putting themself in place of God. They are putting their wants and desires first without considering what God considers is best.
As believers, we will have desires, wants and ideas we think are good. However, all of these “plans” or “ideas” should be given to God. Us surrendering to Him, and trusting in Him to allow what is best to unravel.
We also must understand that sometimes what we think is best is not. Maybe it is not the right timing for that matter or maybe God has something better for us. Shouldn’t we want God’s best timing and best matter.
While we surrender and trust in God, yes, think positive. Be optimistic. Have a good perspective. Have faith. The way we think is powerful in how we perceive and navigate through life. Our faith is powerful, as it shows God how we trust in Him, not in our ability to make whatever we want happen.
If you have been manifesting, repent before The Lord. Remember, He is God. Submit all your wants and thoughts before Him, and allow God to do what He does best. Have faith and be positive. What He can do is greater.
Bible verses on this:
- Bring it to God – Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
- His plan & purpose is best – Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
- Seek His perfect will – Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will
- Faith in God, not in us – Matthew 11:22
Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
