Your engagement is a sweet time. I recommend a photoshoot to capture moments from this season. These pictures are great to use for your invites, wedding website, wedding day, and to post on social media.
My Tips:
- Cost Friendly Photographer – There are many photographers out there. You may even be connected to one that can offer you a great price. Ask around to see who can capture your pictures at a price that works for you. Whether that is an upcoming photographer or a friend who’s really good at snapping pictures.
- At Least 2 Weeks Ahead – Take your pictures a few weeks before needing to send your invites and adding to your wedding website. Giving you time to sort through and possibly retake the photos if they do not come out right.
- Outfit Options – Have at least two outfits to change into. This will give some different looks adding variety to your collection of photos.
- Color Coordinate – Coordinate colors with your fiance. This will make your pictures look better. I recommend light colors and maybe even your wedding colors.
- Location Variations – Choose a location that offers different backgrounds and spots to snap your photos. I recommend choosing a local park that has various spots. This provides a natural feel and some shots during golden hour.
- Golden Hour – When taking outdoor photos, the sun plays a big part in how your photos turn out. I recommend taking these pictures during “golden hour.” Early morning, an hour after the sun has risen, or in the afternoon, an hour before the sun goes down.
- Know Your Poses – Search for some couple poses, preferably engagement-themed. Use this as a guide as you take pictures. To ensure you use your photo shoot time well and get the pictures you really want.
