Bible Study Resources

Taking the time to read and study The Bible is essential as a Christian. We live in a day and age where there are so many tools and resources available. Here I am sharing some items, methods, and tools that I have been using for years and have worked for me. Hopefully, this can inspire you and give you some resources to implement. Read more below!

Everyday

This is what I use every day when I read my Bible. I love the NIV Thinline Bible. I know that there are so many different Bibles, and many that include study material. For me, I love to read The Word of God alone and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to me what I need. If additional study is needed there are some additional books and websites I am sharing here to help with that.

Along with reading, I love to journal what I read. Taking notes of what I observe and how I can apply it to my life. As I read, I love to highlight verses that stand out to me. A no-bleed highlighter is perfect for Bibles like this one. And gotta bookmark where I leave off for the next day.

Additional Resources/Accessories

I love these items. Pretty self-explanatory, but I want to highlight this – why index cards? For me, this is something I love to use when there is a verse I want to memorize or need to spend time meditating. Sometimes I hang this on the wall to be reminded of. Or in a collection of other index cards with bible verses to meditate on.

In Depth

I love how the Bible is full of so much to uncover. Sometimes in The Bible, I find that I need to go a little deeper to gain a better understanding. Here are books I have used when I need more of a breakdown, insight, or recap.

Websites

Here are links to some of my favorite websites and pages. With each link I’ll explain why.
Bible Project

Wow! The creators of this have blessed me through these videos and resources. Usually, when I start a new book of The Bible, I like to watch one of these videos to prepare myself for what I am about to read. If you are a visual learner, I think this a great source to use. You can check out their page on YouTube as well.

Blue Letter Bible

Wow again! Have you ever read a section of the Bible and feel like you’re not getting an understanding? On Blue Letter Bible, there are so many commentaries from godly, insightful, and trusted leaders that share their commentary. My favorite is David Guzik. I’m telling you, this will help!

Soaking Worship

If you’re like me, sometimes background music helps you focus better. I love soaking worship because this puts me in the right frame and focus when it comes to my bible reading time. There are so many versions available out there. Check it out on YouTube.
